Parent Solutions: How to take the complaints of your clients and turn them into gold!

Kerrin Michaels began her passion for client relations as a College Orientation Leader, specializing in Parent Orientation. Since then, Kerrin has been specializing in the field for both corporate and private companies. Kerrin opened The Greater Boston School of Dance in 2012 and The Greater Boston School of Classical Ballet in 2018. A dance educator since 2003, Kerrin’s professional theater dance experience includes, ‘Follies’- The Lyric Stage Company, ‘Funny Girl’-Fiddlehead Theater, ‘Seussical’- Wheelock Family Theater. Kerrin played the principal roles of both “Carol” and “Sharron”, as well as Dance Captain, in the off-Broadway and National Tour of “Girls Night- The Musical” from 2009-2012. 

 

In this workshop, Kerrin will help you identify client problems that can be used to help your business grow faster. Learn techniques on listening to the problems (disguised as complaints), hearing the concerns (receiving negative feedback) and knowing which is worth your time, what is worth delegating, and which needs to receive immediate closure. You will be able to refocus and redirect negative feedback and give it purpose to help your studio thrive even faster.

Busting The Myth Of A Ballerina

Daphne Lee, originally from Rahway, NJ, began her dance training at the Rahway Dance Theatre under the direction of her mother, Ms. Jay Skeete-Lee. She graduated with Honors from the Ailey/Fordham B.F.A program in dance and currently holds an MFA from Hollins University. As an advocate for Multiple Myeloma Cancer research and diversity inclusion initiatives with companies, Lee remains an active ambassador of negotiating what it means to be an artist in the twenty-first century. Lee has danced with Alvin Ailey II, Oakland Ballet Company, Collage Dance Collective, the Black Iris Project, and is currently with the Dance Theatre of Harlem in New York City.

 

This workshop will engage audiences in dismantling the stereotypes of ballet dancers placed from mainstream society. We will be looking at race, identity, gender and sexuality politics regarding the 21st century artist.

The Real Truth About Using Social Media Effectively

Roy Patterson was born in Mexico, where he started his dance & musical theater training at age 7. He graduated from the “Universidad Popular Autonoma del Estado de Puebla” (UPAEP) with a BA in Communications and Marketing as well as a double major in Dance. Before long, he obtained his double Master’s degree in Project Management and in Education. Roy’s performing, directing, and choreography career began in Mexico as he was part of several Dance companies and Musical Theater productions. He also performed around the world sailing the high seas with Norwegian Cruise Line.

 

Now living in NYC, Roy started his Social Media career 7 years ago. His passion for social media is sparked by applying his communications and marketing knowledge to the ever-changing technology as he finds ways for businesses and clients to utilize their social media effectively. As the Social Media & Marketing Director for StarQuest Dance Competition, Roy will guide you through the truths, tips, and tricks on how YOU can use Social Media in the most effective way to build your brand, your business, and connect with your audience.

Emily has been passionate about children and families for most of her life and has been uniquely involved in the education and business side of the child care and activities industries for over 10 years. She is currently leading the Marketing team at Jackrabbit Technologies, parent company of Jackrabbit Class, Dance, Swim, and Care editions.
